Buffalo Chapter Update

  • May 9th – First meeting at Burning Books. We discussed what comprises the PIC, the systems of oppression that uphold it , and issues specific to Buffalo. We talked about the history of Black and Pink, thought about organizations we could partner, and how to do better outreach.
  • May 18th – We hosted a sign making party for upcoming and future events.
  • May 14th – Kyem gave an introduction to Black and Pink for students at SUNY Buffalo’s LGBTQA Dinner Club and talked about abolition and letter writing.
  • May 25th – We joined other Buffalo organizations to participate in the City-Wide Coalition Rally and March to Stop the Criminalization of Youth for the National Week of Action Against Incarcerating Youth
  • May 31st and June 1st – We marched in the Dyke March and tabled and did outreach at Buffalo’s Pride Festival. We also collected letters for #JusticeForJane during Pride.
