October Updates from SF Bay Area

This past Saturday, Oct 11, we participated in the Queer Yo Mind Conference, organized by the ASI Queer and Trans Resource Center at SF State University. We tabling throughout the day and attended a panel entitled “The Erasure of Anti-State Queerstories” with a comrade of our group, discussing the ways that the prison industrial complex, respectability politics and other factors influence our movements, who is policed in our communities and which stories live on and which are erased, including an in depth case study of the recent action against the Prison of Love party at SF Pride.

Also, our majority white/solidarity-identified study group cohort had its first session and is excited that Linda Evans will join the next session to support discussion of one of the readings, The Prison-Industrial Complex and the Global Economy. Other readings will be posted soon to our website. We are continuing the process of reconstructing/developing our majority QPOC/directly impacted study group cohort and have a few spots for interested folks. Email us if interested.
