We are a small chapter of Black and Pink with a regional emphasis. The Albuquerque chapter of Black & Pink meets every 1st and 3rd Sunday of the month at 6:30 pm. We are currently meeting at the Transgender Resource Center of New Mexico (TGRCNM). We prioritize letter writing, mail sorting, and fundraising.
Our work towards the abolition of the prison industrial complex is rooted in the experiences and wisdom of currently and formerly incarcerated people. We are outraged by the specific violences of the prison industrial complex against LGBTQ people, and respond through advocacy, education, direct action, and community building. Our penpal program links free world allies to incarcerated queer and trans folks as a powerful resistance to the violent isolation of the prison system.
Once there were no prisons. That day will come again.
